As a perfect example that luxury, animal love and sustainability can co-exist, A_C is on a mission to disrupt the fashion industry, by providing high-end sustainable alternatives to animal leather and ‘pleather’ goods. A_C is the acronym for the label’s ethos: ‘Ahimsa Collective’. Formed from the ‘a’ meaning ‘without’ and ‘himsa’ meaning ‘harm’, Ahimsa Collective signifies “respect for all living beings and avoidance of harm towards others.”
Ethical, social and environmental responsibility are upheld at every stage of the Ahimsa Collective. By using some of the most innovative materials combined with excellent design and artistic flair, the label has become the home of conscious luxury lovers.
The label’s intention was to offer a bag that was not only environmentally friendly but environmentally beneficial. To do this, Ahimsa Collective creates handbags out of existing resources, would-be-waste and innovative plant-based textiles.
Each component of the bags has an ‘End Of Life’ program. This extends from the closed-loop system of the Recycled Waterbottles that line the bags, to the Raw Material of the FSC Certified Washable Paper and Piñatex (Pineapple Leather) with which the bags are made from.
